You should post on social media once a week.
No. You should post 6 times a day!
ummmm….how much is right?
The short answer is “it depends”.
It depends on the platform you are using, and it depends on your target audience and their appetite for content or engagement, and it depends on what you are trying to achieve.
One thing I have learned using social media channels for a few years now is that the amount of stuff you post depends on all of the above. The other thing I have learned though is there are acceptable limits of self-promotional posts – and they depend on you getting the balance of other content right.

In this weeks quick tip I discuss getting the balance right: how much content should you curate (sharing other people’s posts)? How much should be chat, or one-to-one engagement? How much can be acceptable business or self-promotion?
Get the balance wrong, and your audience begins to think you are just hogging the conversation…and nobody likes that person!
