Online search matters for every professional today, no matter what sort of practice they are trying to build or what type of clients they are trying to attract.
It matters even if you think you aren’t using digital marketing tactics.
Because even if you are marketing in traditional (offline) methods, it is highly likely that the consumers reading your leaflets or columns in the local paper are going online to check you out if they think you are a possible provider of solutions for them.
The majority of consumers will Google you. Even if you have been recommended or referred the chances are high that today’s consumer will google you before deciding to meet with you.
Knowing that, it makes sense to try and ensure that you are as well positioned as you can be online. That includes thinking about what keywords and search terms you want to compete in, and then understanding where the competition is weakest – or where you can get the “best bang for your buck”. Getting professional help in this area will be well worthwhile generally, but you can make a good start by using some free resources provided by Google too.
