Coming up with a winning headline or subject line is the first objective when writing for clients or prospects. Anything else we have to say in the body of the message just doesn’t really matter if we can’t get their attention and engagement first.
Whether we are writing for a marketing campaign or sending emails to existing clients wanting them to take an action for their own good, the subject line or header is often the difference as to whether the message actually gets read or not.
There are undoubtedly lots of ways to come up with great subject lines and headers, not least of which is simply using an individual recipients name, but when in doubt on mass mailings or advertising there is a well researched “formula” which works, and which we explore this week in the quick tips video.
