It’s a distant memory I’m sure, but one of the things that everyone loves about the Christmas holiday season is it becomes noticeable that many folk relax just a little bit more….give others a bit more time and leeway…become just a little more charitable….and of course there are the client gifts. These gifts of time and attention especially are things that people particularly cherish, and what makes that time of year special.
People get treated more nicely, and the effect is that they become nicer it seems.
It only seems that way of course; the people were nice to begin with. What changes in December is that people begin overtly trying. They try to do more for, or spend more time with, others – their friends, family, the important clients and business relationships…so people become more “giving”. They try to give more attention. They try harder to think of others….and the result is that people around them like them all the more and everyone is uplifted.
Why does this have to just be a holiday season thing?
Giving is good for relationships. Great relationships are good for business. See where I’m going with this?
