Most advisory firms don’t create videos of their own it seems. So, most advisory firms do not appear to have taken advantage of the consumer appetite for video, or how they can improve client service & experience (& efficiency) by creating their own videos. It seems they have not done so because it is in the “too hard” basket.
Or perhaps because there is a perception that to use video as a professional services firm they must produce expensive and highly polished video’s all the time, and every time.
Not so!
There is no doubt that when it comes to promotional video’s, or those used for professional positioning in marketing, that a professionally produced and well crafted video does matter – that is an area where amateur production does count against you. However, there are a vast number of areas where amateur production is actually quite effective. By “amateur” I do mean the basic video’s that you can produce yourself, largely using equipment you probably already have (albeit perhaps with the addition of a modest software package or two at very nominal cost).
