The logic and business benefits of improving client lifetime value are undeniable. No matter what the maths are for your particular business, the bottom line is that if keep more customers happier for longer then you will have a more profitable and valuable business.
Where that logical line of thinking starts to get difficult for many is when they get to the question of
“How do we keep the customers happier for longer?”
There are a lot of things that you can do that make customers happy, and then even happier. Therein lies the secret: keeping customers happier for longer is not about doing a particular thing, it is about continually looking to do a lot of things better or differently.
Some of them are actually fairly easy, and some take a bit more work and effort – but then the reward will be worth it I’d suggest. Besides, the effort (and cost) of keeping existing customers happy, or happier, is usually substantially less than the effort and cost of continually attracting new customers.
