How to define a good days work

Here is a simple test for any professional who is feeling buried in compliance, red tape, customer service or any of the myriad of other things that are collectively called “stuff that fills your day”.

Did you create something valuable for a client today?

If you did, you have done your job today.  Well done you!

If you didn’t….then go and create some value for a client today.  It isn’t too late, no matter what the hour of the day is.

When you get right down to it, the test of whether you have done your job on any given day is as simple as asking whether you created value for a client today?  When feeling overwhelmed with “stuff” it is really easy to lose sight of the good that you did on any given day – let alone over the course of a “stuff” filled week.

To make every day professionally fulfilling you just need to be mindful of the need to create value for your customers every working day.
